Rabeprazole 20mg

Rabeprazole 20 belongs to a proton pump inhibitors group of medicine. It is effective in the treatment of stomach ulcers, Gastroesophageal reflex disease (GERD) and other acidity disorders that occurs by decreasing the acid produced in the stomach. The active ingredient in the medicine is Rabeprazole sodium 20mg. It helps to prevent ulcers and also works to prevent cancer of esophagus. It is also familiar as Gastro- resistant tablets. It produces a long lasting inhibition of gastric acid secretion. The medicine comes in the form of tablets.

USAGE

This medicine is effective to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems. It reduce the excessive amount of acid that your stomach produces. Sometimes it’s called acidity in stomach. Also it helps to cure throat or stomach ulcers. It is also helpful in the treatment of duodenal ulcers too. A person can notice the effect of this medicine within an hour or two. However, taking this medicine after eating food might delay the onset of action.

DOSAGE

Take the medicine once daily. Take it preferably 30 minutes before breakfast or on an empty stomach. Swallow it as a whole and try not to chew or crush it. Do not exceed the dosage to twice daily. Take this medicine in the recommended dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The proper effect of the medicine is visible within 4 to 8 weeks after taking the medicine.

PRECAUTIONS

Talk to your doctor before taking Rabeprazole if you have liver problem. Avoid the use of medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is advisable to consult your doctor before consumption of alcohol with the medicines. Avoid the use of medicine in children. Also do not take the medicine if you have any other related allergies. If you see any sign of over-dosage and allergic symptoms, contact your doctor immediately. Try not to take the medicine without consultation, if you have hepatic impairment.
